EUROCONTROL’s advice
- Do each test on the official practice platform and repeat it once or twice. EUROCONTROL recommends no more than eight hours on the platform.
- Improve your English listening and reading, and learn the glossary in the annex to the information for candidates.
- Read up on the air traffic controller profession. You do not need an aviation background.
- Sleep well before the test day, and tell the organisers if you take medication that affects concentration.
LFV’s advice (Sweden)
- LFV writes that the tests are not something you can cram for.
- Eat well, sleep well and take a brisk walk before the test.
- Brush up your English.
- Arrive rested. If you are ill, rebook.
How the practice here fits in
Since the tests cannot be crammed, practice is mostly about recognising the format, the pace and the pressure. Run the tests a few times so that the instructions become second nature, then spend your time on English and sleep. Treat our scores as a hint of your progress, not as the final word.
